Villa Pace recently hosted Nemeton, a solo exhibition by artist Carlo Vidoni, confirming its status as a fertile cultural ecosystem in Friuli Venezia Giulia. The exhibition, which opened on April 27, 2024, offered the public an opportunity to immerse themselves in the creative universe of one of the territory’s most interesting artists.

Born in Udine in 1968, Vidoni has over the years built up an artistic career of considerable depth, characterized by a profound reflection on the relationship between man and nature. His training, ranging from graphic design to photography, culminating in a degree in contemporary art history, is reflected in a multifaceted expressive language that embraces sculpture, installation, photography and drawing.

The event at Villa Pace offered a unique multisensory experience. Franca Marri’s critical presentation provided the intellectual context, while Pietro Tonchia contributed significantly to the realization of the exhibition, giving Vidoni’s works a sonic dimension. This synergy created an interdisciplinary dialogue between visual and sound art, amplifying the perceptual experience of the works. Tonchia’s sound compositions, conceived as true “voices” for Vidoni’s artistic expressions, allowed visitors to fully immerse themselves in the artist’s creative world, stimulating not only sight but also hearing, and thus creating an enveloping and multidimensional exhibition experience.

The exhibition, structured in two phases, reflects the complexity and richness of Vidoni’s work. The first part, which ended May 19, 2024, was only the beginning of an exhibition that will resume in the fall, allowing the public to further explore the artist’s poetics.

Through Nemeton, Villa Pace reaffirms its commitment to the promotion of contemporary art, offering a platform of visibility to an artist whose numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad have captured the attention of critics and the public alike. The initiative is part of a broader cultural program that sees the Villa as a place of encounter and dialogue between different forms of expression, consolidating its role as a cultural catalyst in the area.
